Bird politics.

I have a very convoluted array of things going on in the chicken coop these days.

I have seven geese who are not welcome in the coop, because they are curious and want to check it out, but then they realize they are claustrophobic and have no interest in being in such a small space and they scream and flap their 8’ wingspan wings and flush out every single chicken in a panic.

They also have a beautiful roomy pond to swim in literally right behind the house, but instead choose to “swim” (i.e. sit and poop) in the fresh water I put out for chickens and turkeys to drink.

Enter, a magical 4x6’ piece of plywood I found in our pile of junk behind the shop!!

I bungeed it to the door of the coop, and now chickens can come and go at their leisure, geese are somehow convinced they cannot jump it, my water stays cleaner for way longer, and no oversized birds are in my small chicken coop, petrifying everyone with their screeching and giganticness.

All this to share this share this one picture of chickens enjoying the plywood, which will obviously be their new album cover.
